Welcome to Greenport

GREENPORT was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the prettiest small towns in America. Greenport was once a whaling and ship building village. Antique houses, with their eye on the past, line the streets and avenues of this nearly New England town. The village has many boutiques, shops, restaurants, large and small, B & B’s, hotels and a micro-brewery. Beautiful Mitchell Park has a marina, carousel and public docks. A lovely evening can be spent on this harbor front park. Take a seat to enjoy the view, watch tall ships, a theatrical performance or simple picnic on the grassy green. A pleasant day trip is just a ferry ride away to the quaint and quiet Shelter Island. Other beach destinations are Fifth Street Beach and Park and Gull Pond Beach.
Greenport is the East Ends only incorporated village, with its own mayor, water, sewer and electric company!

Greenport students, K-12, attend the same campus on the Main Road in the village of Greenport. Greenport Students are known as the Porters.
