Welcome to Laurel

LAUREL is known as the “Middle Ground” between the Town of Southold and the Town of Riverhead. This small community is known for its laurel trees, beautiful bay beaches, golf courses, wineries and the Laurel Lake Preserve. Laurel Lake Preserve is comprised of 400 acres of beautiful scenery, wildlife habitat and hiking trails. Laurel is in Southold Town and enjoys Southold beaches and Mattituck Park District privileges. On Laurel’s Aldrich Lane, one can shoot baskets, play baseball or enjoy a night of summer soccer on this well-lit field!

Laurel is the first town on Route 25 in the Town of Southold. Laurel students attend the Cutchogue Elementary and Mattituck High School. There are a small number of Laurel residents on Peconic Bay Boulevard that are within the boundaries of the Riverhead School District.
