Welcome to Aquebogue
AQUEBOGUE is a hamlet in the township of Riverhead. Its name means “head of the bay” when translated from the Indian language. Aquebogue is known for its antique fair and wineries. An organic farm, landmark dining and marinas can be found in this quiet hamlet. Aquebogue is in Riverhead Township and enjoys all of its parks and beaches such as Iron Pier, Reeves Park and Jamesport Beach.
Riverhead is sometimes known as the gateway to the east. Cross County Road 105 and the Long Island wine trail signs appear, leaving bustling Riverhead far behind. The start of the long and scenic Route 25 begins here.
Aquebogue Elementary School educates the students in grades K-6 and Riverhead High School educates grades 7-12.
